2016 Has Been A Rough Year...
...and we're only 14 days in. Social media has been rough lately with all the eloquent tributes to both David Bowie and Alan Rickman. Sprinkled in are the tributes to Brian Bedford, the voice of Disney's Robin Hood.
And even among all of that there was one lone post about an acquaintance I haven't seen in probably almost a decade. He too passed this week just as David, Alan, and Brian had. While 2016 has been a rough year, it has certainly packed a lot lessons in a very short span of time. Mr. Bowie taught us to never stop innovating. Mr. Rickman taught us that even the most vile character onscreen is still only human often with good intentions and we shouldn't lose site of that. Mr. Bedford taught us to keep doing what we love up until we can't anymore. My friend taught me to say hello to the nervous guy in the corner who doesn't know anyone. It might just help him open up a bit.
All of these are important lessons we shouldn't forget. 2016 has taken a lot from us, but we shouldn't miss what was left behind.
RIP Si. Thank you for your kindness. - The Nervous Guy in the Corner
